It does not take much to be average. My core purpose is to bring learners to the right of the mean—consistently above average. I view this pursuit of academic excellence not as a secular competition, but as a form of biblical diligence and stewardship of the mind.
To achieve this, I facilitate instruction with a clear end in mind, enabling learners to become truly competent and confident with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they acquire. Using backwards design, I identify and align terminal objectives with precise criteria and conditions for assessment.
True educational effectiveness requires an instructional approach grounded in sociology and instructional theory, backed by solid evidence. I believe learning should be an active encounter—interwoven with meaningful instructor-learner interactions, learner-content engagement, and collaborative learner-learner dynamics. Whether delivered synchronously or asynchronously, my design leverages technology and multimedia to support robust instructional strategies.
Ultimately, learning is successful only when learner motivation is identified and matched. To keep the gears of learning moving, I actively practice Keller’s (2010) ARCS Model of Motivation to mirror biblical engagement:
